What I Can Do For Your Art
The majority of work that I do on original art is stat replacement/recreations, and this is what you’ll see below. In addition I do some cleaning/foxing removal, but on a case by case basis.
-
Vintage to Modern:
Whether your vintage piece is missing one, some or all stats, or your modern piece needs an entire masthead: there’s a solution for your art. From Platinum Age Windsor McKay pieces, Golden-Age twice up covers, all the way to Modern Age Walking Dead & Something is Killing the Children pieces: I have experience handling art from all ages.
-
The Right Materials:
All inks used are pigment based, the photo paper and dura-lar overlay are both acid free, and stats for each piece are uniquely color-matched to appear as coherent as possible. Replacement or recreated stats can be adhered directly onto the art or to a transparent overlay that lays neatly over the art. The new stats created are made to last a lifetime.
Please note: Missing and/or digitally created stats were never intended to be recreated. The new stats must be reverse engineered. This is possible by taking a high resolution scan of the published work, removing all the color elements and leaving only the black and white line art. It is then sharpened and touched up, often manually. It’s then sized, color matched and printed. Once printed they are meticulously cut out and adhered to either the art board or the transparent overlay.

Cost:
Cost can range from $60 for a single small stat and increases up to several hundred for fully recreated/replacement stats for a piece. This is determined by several factors including the size of the piece, the amount of stats needed, line art recovery time, and the fair market value of the piece. Average cost for full cover stats is $200-$600 and there is a $200 submission order minimum.
